There are plenty of holes in the reasoning here - for instance, plenty of those who served in the armed forces during that war or any other die because of PTSD-related things (people start drinking, oding drugs, acting recklessly, etc.). But what astounds me is how many of those vets I know got sick, sometimes very ill, after the war, being relatively young and without any combat wounds. I judge it unscientifically, I admit - never had time to really go through realted stucies - btu what I see astounds me.
